Principal's Message: 11/11/19

Dear OHS Families,

It is hard for me to believe this week brings us to the middle of November.  The days are certainly feeling more and more like fall and even winter.

Veterans Day

Our Veterans Day assembly is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 9:30.  We are hoping to be outside for the occasion to gather around the flag pole. As of the writing of this, the weather outlook does not look great.  We will move into the APR in that case.  It will be a bit tighter but we have an important occasion to celebrate with about ten special guests in attendance, including veteran OHS family members and American Legion 143 officers.  Our students have prepared some songs and gifts to present our guests.  Looking forward to the event, inside or out!

New Website

This week, as early as Tuesday, the district is unveiling its new websites for the district and all the schools.  Mrs. Kosh has been our lead in getting the OHS site up and ready.  When the new website goes live, you will receive notice from the district.  I am sure it will take a little getting accustomed to but I think the new layout and features will be appreciated in the long run.

National Kindness Day

On Wednesday, 11/13, it is National Kindness Day. In celebration, we are inviting students to wear a blue piece of clothing.  Missy McGuire and Karla Connors have been organizing the day and will be hanging some posters encouraging kindness around the building.

Enjoy this four-day week and the march to mid-November,

David
